It is located in the Land of Bears and is one of the lesser-known Shinobi Villages. Hoshigakure was formed sometime after a strange meteorite, which they call the "star", struck its location 200 years earlier. No trees or plants could grow around the vicinity after it landed. The meteorite itself is not that large, but it emits a chakra-enhancing radiation. The First Hoshikage was able to devise a training method to allow the ninja in the village to harness the power of the star, allowing the ninja to gain supernatural chakra levels.

Kusagakure is located in a far unnamed country. Its shinobi use jutsu involving flora and Earth Release jutsus.

Oto is not really a village, but a group of hideouts and bases scattered through out the Land of Sound and other countries. Sound ninja use a diverse amount of jutsu but many use sound-based attacks. Those who descend from Oto usually follow the path of its creator, Orochimaru, and become power-hungry or evil.

Despite being surrounded by four other countries, Takigakure has never been successfully invaded, a feat they are very proud of. The village is renowned for being able to produce Hero Water every hundred years, which gives whoever drinks it ten times their ordinary chakra level; however, the strain of its use can prove fatal, similar to steroids.

Yukigakure is located in the Land of Snow. Its ninja apparently specialize in manipulating preexisting ice. The ninja from this village had a special "chakra armor" which protected them from most attacks while amplifying the user's abilities, and their jutsu arsenal typically used ice in the forms of various animals.
