About 500 years after the Naruto Series, peace was restored to all of the villages. The fad of being all powerful died down and every village, even the minor ones, were in alliance with each other. Nobody trying to harness the power of every jutsu there is or trying to gain power from the tailed beast, but as if they could find them. No-one has heard or seen any of the tailed beasts in centuries, the only way that the tailed beasts are remembered is by stories passed down by generations. Though those stories have been so mixed up and added to that the real tailed beasts' powers and history has been long forgotten.
With the disappearance of the original tailed beasts, the people hunting them also disappeared...until recently. There had been news of the return of a new, more advanced Akatsuki. This raised questions as to whether the tailed beasts have returned to wreak havoc on the unprepared villages. Little do they know that some of those tailed beasts may be their neighbors. But that Akatsuki aren't only after the nine tailed beasts, they are after five new demons.
These five demons are all equal in power and are all siblings since they arose from the five main personality traits, also known as the "Big Five". These traits are:
- Openness - appreciation for art, emotion, adventure, unusual ideas, curiosity, and variety of experience.
- Conscientiousness - a tendency to show self-discipline, act dutifully, and aim for achievement; planned rather than spontaneous behavior.
- Extroversion - energy, positive emotions, urgency, and the tendency to seek stimulation and the company of others.
- Agreeableness - a tendency to be compassionate and cooperative rather than suspicious and antagonistic to wards others.
- Neuroticism - a tendency to experience unpleasant emotions easily, such as anger, anxiety, depression, or vulnerability; sometimes called emotional instability.
Much like the tailed beasts, these new demons are in the forms of animals though these demons are not living forms of chakra but, instead, actual creatures. The Demon of Openness (mainly known as Bouken) is a monster cat and closely resembles the Two-Tailed Beast though lacks the extra tail. The Demon of Conscientiousness (mainly known as Jishuku) is a giant wolf. The Demon of Extroversion (mainly known as Konki) is a giant weasel. The Demon of Agreeableness (mainly known as Nasakebukai) is a giant bear. The Demon of Neuroticism (mainly known as Kubochi) is a giant eagle.
Also like the Tailed Beasts, they have been sealed within a human body for safe keeping and those humans are called Youki. But since they represent actual emotions, their human vessel is more likely to share those same emotions. When transforming from human to demon, the human will sprout actual ears and tails (if the demon has them) instead of chakra ears and tails. But these Jousho no Oni, which is the more formal name of the five new demons, are harder to contain since they are more free than the Tailed Beasts.
With the new appearance of the Jousho no Oni along with the return of the Akatsuki and Tailed Beasts, confusion and panic spreads through the villages and wars begin to spread out. Each village is accusing the other of creating the Jousho no Oni and making the Tailed Beasts return along with those who are after them. With the villages in panic, those that need protection go unprotected causing much devastation and fatalities. Some people get the idea that if they track down and locate the Jousho no Oni and Tailed Beasts that everything will go back to normal and the Akatsuki will break up. This thought soon spread to others and soon many innocent people perished at the hands of their neighbors who thought that they were one of these demons. (Remember the Salem Witch Trials? Well this is Naruto Style.)
But the accusers are unaware of why these five new demons have appeared. Their creator is unknown though the demons know why they were placed on this earth; to protect the villages and to save the Jinchuuriki of their impending doom. But the one downfall is that the Jousho no Oni do not have any knowledge of how to use jutsus. Yes their human vessels are able to but it is only the jutsus that a human can perform unlike the Jinchuuriki who can use special jutsus that are only available when fighting with their Tailed Beasts chakra.
But the question is, will the Youki be able to protect the villages and save the Jinchuuriki? Or will the Akatsuki succeed?
